13 of us plus Bella and Archie, arrived at the car park at Ennerdale. (Some went to the Sands (tut tut) and were even there at 8.55 so not sure what happened with the closures?)
Anyway, we started along road and then into the forest for a pleasant walk with bright sunshine and lots of birdsong. We stopped for a "banana" break at the bottom of Starling Dodd. We opted to go up the middle track as welthe gradient plus a path, looked slightly easier.
Like the recce, at the top, it was a tad windy (as at Grearsat Borne) but we descended a bit for some shelter and lunch. We carried on across the ridge to Great Borne where a certain Trevor completed the Wainwrights to applause and congratulations. Well done Trev!
We descended the steep W end of G.Borne and back to the cars (a note - since Ian and I recced the walk 2 1/2 weeks ago, the car park costs have gone up to £10!!!)
We went to Ennerdale Bridge for refreshments afterwards.
All in all, it was a great day - great company, great Wx, a finisher  - thanks to all who came on the walk and I hope you enjoyed yourself.
