Eight of us on the B walk today and what a fantastic day it was too!   We had an easy road walk through Thackthwaite before heading to Scalehill bridge and making the short steep climb onto Brackenthwaite Hows, our lunch spot,  with  stunning views of Lorton Vale and  high fells on all sides. 
There was still a fair distance to cover and another climb up Rannerdale to reach the col overlooking Buttermere and then steeply down to the lakeside for welcome refreshments 
A great day in great company.
