Walks & Events Programme
All car walks start from the Sands Car Park, Carlisle, at 9.00am on a Sunday, 9.15am on a Wednesday and from May to August 6.00pm on a Thursday. Sunday coach walks start from Rosehill, opposite the Auctioneer at 8.50am, the Beehive, Warwick Road, shortly afterwards and the Sands at 9.00am unless otherwise stated.
Coach: £10 Car: £8 contribution, is recommended, to the driver

Dogs are not allowed on coach walks but are allowed on some car walks providing the owner uses their own car and follows the club rules concerning dogs. Look for the "Dog Friendly" symbols on the walk description and walks programme

Walk Grades & Suffix
Grade 1 Over 2500ft(750m) of ascent_
Grade 2 1500(460m) - 2500ft(750m) of ascent
Grade 3 500(150m) - 1500ft(460m) of ascent
Grade 4 Less than 500ft(150m) of ascent
Grade 5 Fairly Flat
No Suffix No Severe Steepness
Suffix S Steep part but no Scrambling
Suffix SC Ocassional use of hands
Suffix SCR Contains a Severe Scrambl

Walks are graded by the walk leader and reflect the distance, amount of ascent and the type of terrain. Walk Grades
Grade 1 Typically a hill or mountain walk involving substantial ascent and descent but might also be a longer low level walk of 10 miles or more
